William Murphy

William ‘Bill’ Elliot Murphy, age 68, of Stannard Mountain Road in Wheelock, VT, formerly of Weymouth, MA, passed away Friday evening, April 28, 2017 at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital from a single motorcycle accident.
Bill was born in East Elmhurst, NY, on October 29, 1948, son to William Cornelius and Genevieve Cecelia (McCarragher) Murphy. He was raised and educated in Weymouth, MA, graduating from Weymouth High School Class of 1966. He was drafted into the Army serving stateside from 1968 to 1970. Bill worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail sorter in Brockton, MA. He retired in 2004 and has lived in Wheelock for the past 10 years. Bill was an avid motorcyclist and loved animals.
He is survived by 4 brothers: James and wife, Barbara, of Duxbury, MA, Martin and wife, Denise, of Yarmouth Port, MA, Raymond and wife, Jeanne, of South Weymouth, MA, and Thomas of East Weymouth, MA; a sister: Genevieve Wallace and husband, David, of Raymond, NH; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by his father in 1986 and his mother in 1993.
