William James Goldsworthy, age 79, of Main Street, Lyndonville, VT, passed away at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center Friday, February 10, 2017.
Bill was born in Jersey City, NJ, on July 7, 1937, son to the late George and Florence (Welch) Goldsworthy. He grew up in Jersey City and Secaucus and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-58. He moved to St. Johnsbury in 1966 and worked several jobs throughout his life including Fairbanks Scales, E.H.V. Weidmann and after retirement worked at Wal-Mart in Littleton.
He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fly fishing. He was an avid reader of American history and historical fiction.
Bill is survived by a son: William Goldsworthy and his wife, Beth, of Barre, VT; 2 daughters: Wendy P. Hayes and her husband, John F., of Kirby; and Carole Ann Doak and her husband, Malcolm W., also of Kirby; 4 grandchildren: Jillian and Matthew Goldsworthy, Kiley and John W. Hayes.
He is predeceased by his wife Patricia (Lilienthal) in 1997.
There will be no Calling Hours.
