W. Bruce Pratt

W. Bruce Pratt, 81, passed away on Feb. 16, 2025, after succumbing to his illnesses. Bruce was born on May 14, 1943 in Springfield, Vermont.

On June 25, 1960, Bruce married the love of his life Barbara (Hawthorne) Pratt.

Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many hours in the woods and on the lakes with his family and friends.

He started his police career at the Springfield Police Department, where he made his way up the ranks quickly. Looking to better his career, he applied for the Chief of Police job in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He jot the job and was chief for over 20 years. While Chief, he was involved in many community programs such as Hunter Safety, Child Car Seat Safety, DARE and many more. He was especially proud of the work he accomplished with Child Seat Safety.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Norma DeRosia and brother Lawrence (Larry) Pratt. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Barbara Pratt, his children Bruce (Edyie) Pratt, Robin Noyes, Kevin (Joan Adams) Pratt and Rondi Pratt. His brother Randy (Linda) Pratt, his sister Renee (Doug) Brent as well as many nieces and nephews, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
