Vernice Minor of St. Johnsbury Center passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022. Vernice was born and grew up in Lyndonville, Vermont, the daughter to Alton and May Colby.
Vernice married Cleveland Minor in September 1962. They had three children together: Elizabeth (Daniel) Gray, Todd Minor and John (Jenny) Minor. She was a grandmother to Lucy and Jack Minor and Andrew Fuller and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mom enjoyed her plants and flowers, doing her word puzzles, reading and knitting. Before her blindness took over mom enjoyed knitting and donating to Prayer Shawls.
Mom worked at various jobs throughout her life; Glovers, EHV Weidmann, IGA and Maple Grove.
Mom had a fiery spirit, sometimes warped sense of humor, a can-do attitude, and a strong conviction to do things her way. Deep down she had a kind compassionate soul.
She was predeceased by her parents, her four brothers: George, Guy, Glen and Alton Colby; one sister: Veda; and her son from a previous marriage, Wayne Fuller.
Many thanks to the staff at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital for their care and kindness for mom.
There will be no services or calling hours at this time.
Memorial donations may be made in Vernice’s name for Palliative Care at NVRH to the Denise Dussault Caron Fund, PO Box 905, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
