Timothy King

October 2, 1954 — August 19, 2016

Timothy James Joseph King, age 61, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his beloved family.

Tim was born in Rome, GA, on October 2, 1954, son to Jean Marie (O’Brien) Lincoln and the late Richard Anthony King. On March 31, 1973, he married the former Joan Carol (Roth) and they shared 43 blessed years together. They made their home and raised their family in Quincy, MA, where he worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. They moved to Newark, VT, 24 years ago. He established, owned and operated, Northeast Computer Systems, Inc. in Lyndonville which is a family run business that provides computer sales and service. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, as well as a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus and Financial Secretary with the St. Elizabeth Council 13574, Lyndonville, VT. With the assistance of the owner of the Lynburke Motel, who leased the land, Tim founded the Lyndonville Community Garden and the produce was donated to the Lyndon Area Food Shelf. Tim was a loving and humble man, a man of integrity and deep faith, who had a servant’s heart. Tim’s life was his testimony.

He is survived by his loving wife: Joan of Newark, his mother: Jean M. Lincoln of MA, three children: Jacob M. King, Joshua D. King, wife Jessica, and Caitlin S. King all of Newark, two brothers: Richard King, wife Debra, of FL, William King of VT, three sisters: Susan King of MA, Antoinette Wojtasinski, husband John, of MA, Mary Cochrane of MA, four step-brothers and sisters: Paul Lincoln of MA, Linda Ochiltree, husband Edward, of MA, Nancy Lincoln of FL, Deborah Lincoln of FL, five grandchildren: Alora, Noah, Imoen, Rurik and Geralt King and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tim was predeceased by his son: Justin C. King in 2010, a brother: Thomas R. King in 2012, his wife Cynthia of HI survives him, a sister: Anna M. Foy in 2015, her husband Robert of MA survives her, and his stepfather: John W. Lincoln in 2000.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Church on High Street in Lyndonville, VT; burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Newark with Fr. Bernard Gaudreau as celebrant. The family requests that family and friends join them for the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 10:30AM prior to the funeral in the Church. There will be no calling hours.

There will be a reception following the burial at the Pavilion in the Pines, 1163 Darling Hill Rd, Lyndonville, Vermont 05851, from 1-4 p.m.

With grateful hearts, the King family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, support, kindness, and generosity, shown to Tim and our family during his illness.
