Thelma Esther Tower

 April 16, 1930 - July 21, 2024.

 Thelma Esther Tower, Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother was called to be with our Lord in Heaven on July 21, 2024, at the age of 94. 

 She was born in Northumberland, NH to Roveal and Dorothy Brockney. She lived a long and beautiful life. Thelma first married Howard Sargent and they were blessed with two children, Linda (Sargent) Harran of Mary Esther, FL and Larry Sargent, Sr of East Burke. After the tragic loss of Howard, Thelma went on to marry David Tower and they were blessed with two children, David Tower, Jr, of East Burke and Kimberley Tower Downing of Kirby. 

 Thelma attended and graduated from Cosmetology School (with her daughter Linda) in St Johnsbury and did the Bookkeeping for her husband David Tower’s construction business for many years. She loved to sew, crochet, bake, read and write her special poems. She loved spending time with her family, whom she was so incredibly proud of. She loved her home and community, East Burke village, where she raised her family and resided for over 70 years. She was a true icon, known for her fancy hair, her high heeled shoes and her put together style. She is loved deeply and will be missed by so many. 

 Thelma is survived by her children Larry Sargent Sr (Theresa) Linda Harran (Frank) and Kim Downing, Daughter-in-Law Patsy Tower, Grandchildren, Larry Sargent Jr, (Karen) Melyssa Whitcomb (Eddy), Eric Sargent (Danielle), Julie Tower, Christopher Tower (Elizabeth), Krystal Amidon (Justin), Kelly Lemieux (Jake), Kathryn Mello (Gabe) and Kara Downing, several great grandchildren nieces, nephews, family members and her special friends, Elaine Laferriere, Julie Pandora, Victoria Singer and her best dog friend Suzie.

 She was predeceased by Howard Sargent, David Tower Sr, David Tower, Jr, Paul Downing, Elaine Sargent and Melynda Miller. 

 We welcome family and friends to join us for a graveside service to be held at Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1 pm.
