Stephen B. Gray, 63, of Lyndonville, died peacefully Tuesday January 20, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born February 9, 1951 in Fall River, MA, the son of Edgar and Shirley (Borden) Gray.
He graduated from Tiverton High School in Tiverton, RI in 1969. Steve had worked for more than thirty years as a commercial fisherman fishing for lobsters and scallops for himself, Borden Fisheries and Gray's Bait Co. In 1990 he moved to Vermont and worked as a truck driver for Pike Industries for eleven years.
Steve was a loving father, grandfather and friend. Spending time with his family and friends was important to him. He was a member of the East Burke Congregational Church and the Tom Breslin Center of Lyndonville. He liked hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Manchester of Bristol, RI; his partner, Donna McFarland of Lyndonville (P.O. Box 1232, 05851); two daughters, Mickaela Gray of Montpelier and Hillary Gray of Lyndonville; a son, Jason Gray and his wife Nicole of Tiverton, RI; two step-sons, James Murray of Tiverton, RI and Patrick Murray and his wife Deja of Essex Jct., VT; three grandchildren, Lily, Ainsley and Aeris; Donna's daughter, Julie Casey and her husband Travis and their son Callan of Morgan, VT; a sister, Rosalie Durfee and her husband David of Tiverton, RI; his previous wife, Carolyn Elliott and her husband Steve of Somerset, MA; and many friends.
He was predeceased by his father; a sister, Susan Stephenson; and his brother, Robert Gray.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 23, 2015 at 5:00 PM at the Guibord Funeral Home with the Rev. Judi Horgan officiating. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the start of the service beginning at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Tiverton, RI at a later date.
