Stephen Theodore Broome

Stephen Theodore Broome, 68, of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital.

Steve was born in St. Johnsbury on November 1, 1954, to Theodore and Gladys (Taylor) Broome.  He attended local schools graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1973.  He had a short stint in the U.S. Army receiving an Honorable Discharge.

His work history included paper routes, Marden Industries, Manchester Mfg., Vemco Home, NEP, working with his father logging, floor cleaning, St. Johnsbury Subaru, with a very special friend Billy Hale, Autosaver Group and  Maple Town Diner. Stephen enjoyed music & fishing and was involved in the Boy Scouts as a youth with a very special cousin Ray Broome, and liked snowmobile riding. 

Survivors include his parents, Theodore “Bud” Broome and Gladys Broome; a sister, Lynda Locke and husband Dennis of East Ryegate, VT; brother, Michael Broome of St. Johnsbury; several nieces and nephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 10:00AM at Hillside Cemetery in East Charleston, VT.
