Ronald Lee Comeau

            Sheffield, VT: Ronald Lee Comeau, age 74, of Rt 122, passed peacefully at his home following a long decline, on Monday December 11, 2023, with his family with him.

            Ron was born in Campton, NH, on October 2, 1950, son to the late John Henry and Lucy Ethel (Hobart) Comeau.  He was raised and educated in the area and joined the U.S. Army in 1967 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 82^nd Airborne Division and honorably discharged in 1970. Ronald was a past but longtime member of the American Legion as well as the VFW in Lyndonville.  Ron worked as a carpenter and painter most all his life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in younger days, loved deer hunting season with his family, like watching his westerns and war movies as well.  He also made sure that he read his newspaper every day.

            He is survived by his 3 children: Viola Champney (Rusty) of St. Johnsbury, Ann Champney of Waterford, Ronald I. Comeau (Acacia Knight) of Sheffield, VT, 4 step-children: Jennifer Collins of NH, Jason Fortin of NH, James Fortin of NC, and Laressa Dineen of TX, 3 siblings: John Comeau (Janice) of Wentworth, NH, Edna Coffin (Richard) of Rumney, NH, Linda Comeau of Wentworth, NH, 9 grand and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            He was predeceased by his sister: Susan Butler and the love of his life, Cheryl Fortin.

            A Gathering of family and friends for visitation will take place from 11-1PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville.

            A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11AM at the Blair Cemetery in Campton, NH.
