Rodney Maurice Young, aged 57, of East Haven passed away on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, April 9 2023 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Rodney was born in St Johnsbury on May 20th 1965 to parents Maurice Young and Paula (Ruggles) Young. He attended Lyndon Institute and studied at Vermont Technical College. For most of his life, he lived up on the mountain surrounded by family and nature. He was a mechanic and self-proclaimed “gear head” who was always tinkering on some new project he’d dreamed up. He was an avid gardener, and spent most of his time working in his garage or outside with his beloved cat Samantha. He was always sharing his fresh baked goods with the many people he loved whether they were family, customers, or the friends he spent so many hours chatting with. His generosity was huge.
He is survived by his children: Andrew “AJ” Young (Angelica) and Jasmine Young (Alex) both of Lyndonville, Jacob Young of St Johnsbury, his brother: Bruce Young (Monica) of East Haven, his grandchildren: Makenzie, Layton, Oaklynn, Ainsley, Abel, his nieces: Chris Tina, Lilly, Lisa all of East Haven, Amanda of Lyndonville, lots of extended family, and many close friends.
Rodney was predeceased by his parents: Maurice and Paula, brothers: Douglas Young and John Young, and nephew Gabriel Young.
There will be a celebration of life organized for a later date.
