Richard Taylor, 73, of St. Johnsbury passed away at home unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, 2016 after a period of declining health.
He was born in Washington D.C., Aug. 25, 1943, the son of John Cullember and Esther (Rogers). He married Debra Driscoll of St. Johnsbury on Aug. 24, 1984.
Richard was a retired substance abuse counselor for the State of Vermont Department of Parole and Probation. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Kingdom Recovery Center on Summer St.
He is survived by his wife Debra, son Nathan Taylor and his wife Katie and their children Natalie Michelle and Ella Kate of Danville; mother-in-law Forrestine Driscoll of St. Johnsbury; and many close extended family members.
He was predeceased by daughter Michelle Taylor.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Tuesday evening, Nov. 1 from 6-8 p.m. concluding with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m.
