Richard Morey

          Barnet, VT: Richard Edwin Morey, age 71, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, Saturday, July 22, 2023.

          Richard was born on November 16, 1951, in St. Johnsbury, VT, son to the late Earl Bernard and Olive Pauline (Bolton) Morey.  He worked for Hitchner’s for 33 years and married Carol Ann (Blaney) on June 17, 1983.  Dicky enjoyed the Patriots, taking care of his animals and watching NASCAR with his favorite drivers, Kyle Larson and, of course, Ryan Blaney.

          He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Carol Morey, of Barnet, his brothers: Henry B. Morey of St. Johnsbury, David O. Morey and his wife, Fay, of Cartersville, GA, his twin brother: Robert and wife, Christine, of Lunenburg, brother-in-law: Robert Blaney of St. Johnsbury, and many nieces and nephews including: Amanda & Shawn Turgeon, William Wright, Miranda Achilles, Crystal Buck (Chet), Miranda, Britani, Kelsi and Larry Virge, and his kitties: Chrissy Marie & Bernie.

          He was predeceased by his 2 sisters-in-law: Shirley Morey, Audrey Blaney Virge and his nephew: Henry “Bucky” Morey.

          Friends may call on the family from  5-7PM Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT.  

          Burial will take place privately at the Pleasant View Cemetery, RT 5 in Barnet, VT.
