Penny Kay Wellman, age 65, of Mud Hollow Road, passed away at the NVRH in St. Johnsbury, VT, Wednesday, November 25, 2015, after suffering a heart attack at her home. Penny was born in Morrisville, VT, on November 21, 1950, daughter to the late Erval and Kay Shedd. She was raised and educated in Morrisville, graduated from Peoples Academy and went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Randolph through the CCV. Penny had a big heart and always thought of others before herself. She worked as a caregiver and loved taking care of Karen who has been with the family for six years. Penny knitted and was an avid reader, but her main loves were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her focus and attention never strayed far from them in anything she did. She was a remarkable women, worker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Often being called mom by so many because of her loving and caring ways. She will be greatly missed by many.
Penny is survived by her husband, Leroy, who have shared over 25 years together, her sons: Paul Patoine and wife, Annie of Kirby, VT, Ray Barnes of St. Johnsbury, VT, her 3 brothers: Kendall Shedd of Morrisville, VT, Thad Shedd and his wife Lisa, of Wolcott, VT, Dean Shedd and his wife Rosie, of Hyde Park, VT, Her 4 sisters: Navia Shedd , of Hardwick, VT, Bonnie Tallman, of Morrisville, VT, Connie Couture and her husband Dominic, of Morrisville, VT, Linda Morea and her husband Bob, of Morrisville, VT, and 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Penny was predeceased by a daughter: Tammy Boardman in 2005 and her adoptive parents, Lenard and Roberta Sears of Morrisville, VT.
Friends may call on the family from 6-8PM Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
