Pellegrino Rocco “Bill” Mancini, age 84, of Lyndonville, VT, formerly of Oakville, CT, passed away on March 29, 2017, at Northern Vermont Regional Hospital.
Bill was born on April 4, 1932, in Hartford, CT to Rocco and Incorronata (Mazzola) Mancini. He was raised and educated in Watertown, CT, graduating from Watertown High School in 1950. He worked as a carpenter for various companies as well as for himself. Bill married Alice (Bergeron) and shared 11 years together until her passing in 2013.
Pellegrino was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and camping. Whether using wood or metal, he enjoyed building with his hands. He also liked spending time with his family and all his friends at church.
Bill is survived by a son: Steven F. Mancini and wife, Christine, of Watertown, CT; two daughters: Carol Mancini Dumond and husband, Michael, Sr., of Watertown, CT, and Donna Mancini of Oakville, CT; two sisters: Teresa Mancini of Wolcott, CT, and Amelia Grover of Watertown, CT; two grandchildren: Steven R. Mancini and Krista Mancini; and one great-grandchild: Aiden J. D-Mancini. Bill was predeceased by his former wife and mother of his children, Mary McKennerny Mancini.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Church on High Street in Lyndonville, VT, with the Rev. Fr. Curtis Miller as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in the springtime.
Visitation will be held at the Guibord Funeral Home on the corner of Central and Main Streets prior that morning from 10AM until the time of departure to St. Elizabeth’s Church.
