Peggy (Margaret Ann) McCauley age 68, of Littleton, NH, passed away Monday morning, November 27, 2017. She is survived by two sons, Robert Graham and wife, Nikole, of Oldsmar, FL and Richard Graham and wife, Jennifer, of Essex Jct., VT; her mother, Dorothy McCauley of Littleton, NH; her sister, Sandy McCauley of St. Johnsbury, VT; her brother, Larry McCauley and wife, Anny Ewing, of Chester Springs, PA; three grandchildren, Owen, Addie, and Andrew; niece and nephews, Megan and Nate Trenholme, and Sam and Henry McCauley.
Peggy was born in Burlington, VT, on July 24, 1949, daughter of Dorothy McCauley and the late Dr. Robert McCauley. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1967, where she never lost a race in track and was widely recognized as the loudest cheerleader in the state. She attended Bates College and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida in 1971. In 2008, she received her PhD from Pacifica Graduate Institute. After early jobs on ski patrol, on a cemetery crew, as camp counselor, and in teaching, Peggy worked as a book editor for various publishers, including Byte magazine, Addison-Wesley, and Microsoft Books.
Peggy lived in Seattle, WA and Alta, UT before moving to Grantham, NH about 14 years ago, to be closer to family and friends. Peggy was an avid skier and hiker, sharing her joy and reverence for the mountain surroundings from the slopes of Burke to the deep powder of Alta; and from her beloved White Mountain trails to the summit of Kala Patar in Nepal. She also had her pilot’s license, was a Harley enthusiast, and loved her Gordon setters, Callie and Tucker.
