Pauletta Patridge

Pauletta “Polly” Donaghy Patridge passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 with her family by her side at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT.

Polly was born, March 27, 1940 in Concord, VT the daughter of Howard and Melba (Bunnell) Donaghy.

In her younger years, Polly was a hard working farm girl always helping on her family farm.  She had a love for horses and always had a horse story to tell.  She loved watching her family pull horses at local fairs.  She spent 30 plus years as the hot lunch cook for the Burke Town School.  Polly was a great cook especially known for her rolls.  She would open her home to anyone.  She was willing to lend an ear or a room to someone in need.  She knitted afghans for every child born in her family.  She loved looking at the flowers and lilac trees in her front yard.

On November 22, 1958, she married Solon Patridge Jr. who predeceased her in 2013.  Together, they had 7 children who survive them;  Richard (Lisa) Patridge, Susan (Tim) Aldrich, Danny (Karen) Patridge, David Patridge, Sally (Paul) Carr, Larry (Lisa) Patridge and Nancy (Walt) Bandy;  a stepson, Steve (Debbie) Williams; grandchildren, Chris, David, Jennifer, Kate, Casey, Jacquelyn, Steven, Damon, Zack, Zeb, Chelsea, Walter, Matt, Joe and Mike and 9 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters, Alice Sausville, Marion Swett, Christine Oliver, Lana Mitchell, Howard Jr., Kenneth, William and Dale Donaghy and their spouses, her sisters in law, Beverly Masure, Bernice Allard, Lois Switser, Emily Roy, Carol Patridge and Barbara Patridge and several nieces and nephews and a special care taker, Connie Simons, and family friend, Steve Taylor.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Mildred “Pappy Sue” Garfield, a great grandson, Hunter Beer and several special in laws.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Guibord Funeral Home at 11:00am with Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating.  A visitation hour will be held prior to the service from 10-11 am.  A burial will immediately follow at the Woodmont Cemetery on Route 114 in East Burke.

Memorial Donations may be made in Paulette’s name to CCF Horse Pulling, 581 Michaud Drive, Sutton, VT 05867.
