Patricia Ethel Brooks, age 61, of Depot Hill Road, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Pat was born in Portland, Maine, on April 1, 1955, daughter to the late James Albert, Jr. and Phyllis Tracy (Rand) Vaughan. She was raised and educated in Maine and has lived in Vermont since 1978. Pat had many interesting jobs, including work for the Rand Corporation, the CALEX and Cabot Ambulance services, and the St. Johnsbury School System as a para-educator. She was a mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, helping others, and who cared deeply for her family.
Pat will be remembered for her eccentric sense of humor, a quick wit that left many others speechless, and the overwhelming kindness she showed her loved ones. She is survived by three sons: Charlie Brooks (Sarah) of St. Albans, VT, George Martin of St. Johnsbury, and Andrew Brooks also of St. Johnsbury, two daughters: Pamela Hovatter (Chris) of Raymond, NH, Sherry Duval (Randy), of Manchester, NH, three brothers: James Vaughan of Skoweggan, ME, Thomas Vaughan of Nashua, NH, Robert Vaughan of Madison, NH, and a sister, Rosemary Coulombe (David) of Naples, ME. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Quentin, Cordelia, Shana, Brittany, Ashley, Lexi, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 16 years, Ronald R. Brooks in 2002 and her sister, Peggy Elizabeth Vaughan at the age of 18 months.
Friends may call on the family from 5-7 PM Thursday, August 4, 2016, at the Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville.
A graveside service will be held at the Lyndon Center Cemetery at 10 AM on Friday, August 5th with Rev. James Proctor officiating.
