Olga Vrana died peacefully on Saturday, July 14.
She had just celebrated her 98th birthday ten days earlier at her beloved cabin in the Vermont woods. Olga and her family built this cabin from scratch in 1974 and she has spent her summers there ever since.
Olga is remembered by her four sons, Mark, Kim, Bruce, and Steve, their wives, her 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her dear friend Elsa, her many Vermont friends and neighbors, and the extensive Venezuelan branch of her family. Olga was treasured for her gift of bringing people together for all kinds of wilderness adventures, leading hikes and canoe trips for the Adirondack and Green Mountain clubs. She cleared trails at Bolton with The Old Goats, practiced her Spanish with the Spanish club, and attended a 6:30 am water aerobics class with a group of similarly intrepid friends. Olga skillfully expressed herself through photography and often gave her photos depicting wilderness scenes, people, and animals as gifts to family and friends.
Olga cared deeply for the people who touched her life and was a devoted mother, aunt, and cousin to her large family. She will be missed by all.
