Nathan Clarence Haile, Sr., age 75, of Newark Street, was transported from his home to the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, Tuesday evening, November 27, 2018, and passed away from an apparent stroke.
Nick was born in Keene, NH, November 30, 1942, son to the late Clarence and Dorothy Mae (Harnoise) Haile. He grew up in Burlington, VT and graduated from Burlington High School. He joined the VT National Guard and served 3 years, much of his time in Ft. Dix, NJ in the Tank Division. Nick was a working man and took most any job that came his way. He worked in paper mills in Franconia, NH and E. Ryegate, worked at Shop-n-Save, Littleton McDonalds, NSA for several years and 10 years at EHV Weidman. Nick loved woodworking, making tables, picture frames, shelves and picnic tables. He collected baseball cards, loved playing basketball with his kids, enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing and camping. Nathan absolutely loved his dog, Patches. Nathan was a past member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lyndonville, dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Helen F. (LeClair), 5 children: Nick Haile and wife, Christine, of Lyman, NH, Robin Haile of Hardwick, VT, Dominick Haile of Newark, who Nick referred to as ‘His Little Bum”, Nathan C. Haile, Jr., of St. Johnsbury, Kim Haile of W. Springfield, MA, a brother: Charles Haile of Huntington, VT, as sister: Maxine Arvidson of Pen Valley, CA, 14 grandchildren:
Nathan Haile of Littleton, NH Benjamin Haile of Littleton, NH, Stephanie Haile of Lyman, NH, Gillian Haile of Lyman, NH, Cassandra Haile, Brittany Haile, Sean Masseay, Holly Leary, Courtney Haile, Stephanie Haile all of Mass., Nathaniel Haile, Brett Haile, Cody Haile all of VT, Ryan Haile of Mass., and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant son: Clarence Nathan Haile, a daughter: Lisa Haile, a sister: Joyce Chung and Pamela Haile, mother to Lisa, Kim and Nathan, Jr.
Friends may call on the family for visitation from 2-4PM on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the Guibord Funeral Home located at the corner of Center and Main Streets in Lyndonville, VT.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Monday, December 3rd at the Guibord Funeral Home with the Rev. John Perry officiating. Burial will take place at the Montgomery Village Cemetery at 11AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Montgomery, VT.
Donations may be made in Nathan’s name to either the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Rd, Ashland, MT 59003
