Myron A. Corliss of Sheffield passed away at home Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2017 at the age of 84.
He was born in Burke on March 2, 1933, the son of Merton and Alice (Ham) Corliss. On March 20, 1958 he and Edwina Jenkins were united in marriage; she passed away Oct. 25, 2015.
Myron graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1952 and served as a submarine tender in the US Navy. He was a machinist for 36 years at Vermont Tap and Die. He loved to tell stories, go deer hunting and dancing, and be with his family. He and Edwina were 4H leaders for many years and foster parents to many.
He is survived by son Clifford Corliss and wife Rachel of Lyndonville (and their children Chelsey and Cameron, and Cliff’s son Eric and his wife Destiny); daughter Colleen Bowen, husband Ted of Newark (and her children Lindsay Miller and husband Donald, Devin Carten and husband Matthew, and Nicholas Thompson); eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his foster son Timothy DeGreenia and his wife Janet of Windsor Locks, CT (and their sons Timothy and Tyler).
Graveside services will be held at the Newark Cemetery on Tuesday, May 16 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Anne Hockridge officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
