Muriel Nutter of St. Johnsbury passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016. Most recently she had resided at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab Center after having been a happy resident at The Canterbury Inn.
She was born in Sheffield on Dec. 31, 1936, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Taylor) Ash.
Muriel graduated from Lyndon Institute with the class of 1954. Throughout her life she had a deep faith in her Lord; and loved to write poetry for her family and friends.
She is survived by three children: Vicki Somers, James Nutter, and Wayne Nutter; 5 grandchildren and their families: Elizabeth Drinkwater, Curtis Drinkwater, Andre Somers, Stephen Nutter, and Sierra Nutter; two sisters: Marvel Kittredge and Marlene Taylor; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Clarence Ash.
Funeral services will be held in at the Guibord Funeral Home Lyndonville this Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ann Hockridge officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home to share memories and pay their respects from 1 p.m. to the start of the service. She will be buried in May 2017 at the William Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield
