Concord, VT: Monica Rose Noyes, age 78, died peacefully following a recent decline on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the home of her caregiver in Concord, VT.
Monica was born on October 9, 1945, in St. Johnsbury, VT, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Platt) Noyes. Living at home until the age of six, she attended 2 years in Boston at the Perkins School for the Blind and then at the Austin School for the deaf, graduating in June of 1963. In her early adulthood she attended the Helen Keller National Center for the Deaf and Blind in New York.
Monica had lived with several family members including her sister, Sandra, in Montpelier and her mother in Barre. She also lived independently in an apartment in Barre where she shared a common living area. Later, she moved in with her sister, Brenda, in Lyndonville and following Brenda’s death, moved to a developmental home provider.
Over the years, several organizations helped Monica with independent living skills and after moving to Lyndonville, she benefited from the services of NKHS. While living with her home provider, Monica was engaged in many social events, met friends for lunch, and was active within her church. After an accidental fall in 2019, Monica was unable to walk and moved into a private home on Prospect Street in Concord where she lived out the remainder of her life in comfort thanks to the loving care of her care provider and case manager.
She is survived by her siblings: Sandra Noyes of Montpelier, Claudia Kay (Michael) of Northfield, NH, Dwight Noyes (Martha) of Northfield Falls, VT and Brad Noyes (Elaine) of Concord, VT; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
