Michael Florio, age 71, of Minard Hill Road in Groton, VT, passed away at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
Michael was born in Cambridge, MA, on January 25, 1945, son to the late Anthony and Yolanda Marie (Longo) Florio. He grew up in the North End of Boston and it remained one of his favorite places to be. He married Diane Marie Simard and shared 39 years together. They made their home in Somerville, MA until moving to Vermont 17 years ago permanently after spending several years coming to the area where he loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Florio of Groton, his 2 daughters: Nicole Florio and fiancé Jason King of St. Johnsbury, and Jessica Florio and wife Becky Florio also of St. Johnsbury, 3 grandchildren: Jason King, James King and fiancé Mirand Evans, and Antonio King.
Services & burial will be private at the Groton Cemetery and there will be no calling hours.
