Mary R. (Shatney) Berard, age 73, of Old County Road passed away at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehabilitation Center January 20, 2016.
Mary was born in Peacham, VT, on July 4, 1942, daughter to the late Elton and Edna (Hutchison) Shatney. As a teenager Mary was the dump attendant for years and worked as a house cleaner most of her life. She also drove school bus for Peacham for several years.
She is survived by her daughter Erlene Cassidy and husband, Malcolm, of Danville, sister Florence Gordon of NH, 4 brothers: Roy Shatney of Florida, Norris Shatney and wife Gabby of NH, Ernest Shatney and wife Claire of Peacham and Edward Shatney of Lyndon. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul.
Burial will take place in the Peacham Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
