Mark Best, 72, of Lyndonville, passed away on April 10, 2024 at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital.
Mark was born on May 29, 1951 to Winfield and Amy (Gustafson) Best in Washington, DC. He grew up in Rye, New York. A man of many talents, Mark was a trained chef, having studied at the Culinary Institute of America, as well as a skillful artist. He lived in many places during his life and enjoyed his final years in Vermont alongside his feline companion, Stanley. Mark was a devoted student of the Dharma.
Mark was predeceased by his parents. Those who remain include his brother Charles Best and his sister Constance Best.
There will be no services at this time. The family asks Mark’s friends to remember him with love in their hearts. Gifts in his memory can be made to Kingdom Animal Shelter, 1161 Portland Street, St. Johnsbury, Vermont 05819.
