Marjorie “Ann” Vance, 84, of Danville, VT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center in Hanover, NH.
Ann was born on January 19, 1939 to John and Luella (Sanborn) Kirker. She grew up with a special connection to her grandparents, Addie and Arthur Sanborn, spending a large amount of her time with them and eventually raising her own family in their home in Danville and living there for over 50 years.
After attending nursing training at Springfield Hospital, Ann married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Vance. They shared 64 years together, living in Northfield for 8 years before moving to Danville. She started her working years as the ER receptionist at Brightlook Hospital, and later worked at NVRH for 40 years.
Ann loved to be with her kids, including being a caregiver to her son Jeffrey “beautiful blue eyes”. She enjoyed trips to California and Arizona, shopping, going for drives, quilting, and visiting her old town of Morrisville.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Ann was predeceased by her parent in-laws Laine and Eleanor Vance, her son, Richard Melvin Vance; her granddaughter, Carissa Ann Palmer; and her brother, David Kirker.
Those left behind include her husband, Dick Vance of Danville; children, Jeffrey Vance of Danville, Karen (Gary) Poll of Lyndonville, and Kelly (J.P.) Sinclair of North Danville; beloved grandchildren Brianna Eleanor (Brandt), Garrett Laine, and Jordan Paul Sinclair, Gabriel Jacob Poll, and Caity Alysse Palmer (Carrissa Collie); siblings, Sharon (Gary) Daniel of Danville, Charles Kirker of South Hero, and Susan Kirker of Connecticut; and many nieces and.
Visiting hours with the family will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer St., Saint Johnsbury, VT. A private graveside service will be held in Danville Green Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
