After retirement, she became a loyal morning swimmer at the SJA pool, volunteered at the Fairbanks Museum, and traveled to England and throughout the United States visiting family and friends. She wrote diligently for twenty years completing over 20 journals of her daily activities. Up until the last years, she attended Grace United Methodist Church with her good friends Edie and Bill Goff, but was a member of the North Congregational Church.
