Lucille I. Chamberlin, 87, a resident of the Pines Assisted Living and previously of the Darling Inn, both of Lyndonville, died Tuesday evening January 6, 2015 at Northeastern VT Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury following a brief illness.
She was born January 26, 1927 in St. Johnsbury, VT the daughter of Dean and Ima (Brainard) Hall. She attended St. Johnsbury Academy.
Lucille was a farm wife on a dairy farm in East Barnet for twenty years. After farming the family moved to Lyndonville where she worked at Joe's Bakery, Oscar's Bakery, Shop & Save Grocery store in the Deli and the Lyndon Area Meal Site at the Darling Inn. Five years ago she was still volunteering at the Darling Inn Meal Site. She loved to visit with family and friends, play Bingo and in her earlier years she loved to dance.
Survivors include her two children, Hazel Clark and her husband Keith of West Burke (PO Box 190, 05871) and James (Jim) Chamberlin and his wife Dianne of Kirby; two grandchildren, Jessica Chamberlin and Eric Greer; a great granddaughter, Isabella Greer; a sister in-law, Florence Fleming of Barre; nieces and nephews of the extended Chamberlin family; and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; an infant brother; her dear friend, Louie Blanchette; her Uncle and two Aunts, William and Carrie Brown and Ila Brainard; two brothers in-law, William and his wife Geraldine Chamberlin and Gordon Fleming; and three nephews, Walter Neil and his wife Sandra, David Neil and Robert (Bob) Fleming.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2015 @ 11:00 am at the St. Johnsbury Elks Club #1343. All are welcome to attend.
