Lillian Eve Zeller passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. She was born Lillian Eve Swartz on December 3, 1926, in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
During her formative years and into young adulthood, Lillian studied classical piano and attended The New England Conservatory of Music.
She married George Resnick, had one daughter, and lived in Manchester, New Hampshire for many years until her husband passed away.
Lillian met a wonderful man, Alfred Zeller, who lived and worked in St. Johnsbury; in 1971 they were married. Together they shared many years working together in Alfred’s fur business in St. Johnsbury, travelling to many places around the world and playing golf.
Lillian played in many golf tournaments at St. Johnsbury Country Club as well as during Vermont State Days. She won her share of championships, and her golf career was highlighted by having five holes in one.
Lillian and Alfred were very active over the years at Beth El Synagogue in St Johnsbury and were amongst the original founding members who built the first temple in town.
Lillian is survived by her daughter Donna Oplinger and her husband Tom of Water Mill, NY; step-daughter Susan Zeller-Kent of Woburn, Mass. with whom she had a long and loving relationship; step-granddaughter Kayla Zeller of Lynn, Mass., as well as other Zeller family members in Swampscott, Mass.
She is predeceased by her husband Alfred and step-son-in-law Thomas Kent.
