Lyndonville, VT: Leon Paul Trottier, age 84, of Ray Ave, passed away at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, VT, Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2018.
Leon was born in Gilman, VT on May 29, 1934, son to the late George Joseph and Mildred (Cox) Trottier. He grew up in Gilman and lived in Pittsburg, NH, Newbury, VT and Lyndonville. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56 and was stationed in Germany. In 1970 he married Beverly Ann Towle and shared over 30 years together until her passing in 2000. Leon was a truck driver most all his life, driving many years for Georgia Pacific and for a time as a self-employed trucker. He also had his own construction business at one time. His hobbies included working on vehicles, hunting and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Lunenburg Polar Bears and the Pittsburg Ridge Runners.
He is survived by his 4 children: Brian J. Trottier of Oregon, Vicki Trottier of Massachusetts, Scott Trottier and wife, Janice, of St. Johnsbury, Christopher L. Trottier of Lyndonville, a sister Marcella Hall and husband, Bernard, of Fairfax, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in S. Lunenburg. There will be no Calling Hours.
