Kenneth J. Teske, Sr., of Colchester, VT, passed away at his home surrounded by his

family on June 13, 2024 after a long illness.

 

Ken was born on October 24, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, to Wilbert and Edith (Swenson)

Teske. After graduating high school, he entered the US Navy where he served at military bases

throughout the country and was deployed on DD-802 “The Gregory” during the Korean War. He

married Sheila Russell on February 14, 1971, together raising a blended family of six children

and enjoying 42 years of marriage before Sheila’s passing in 2013. After completing his career in

the military, Ken retired to Maine where he and his wife worked at Porter’s drug store before

moving to Lyndonville, VT to assist in the care of Shiela’s father.

 

An avid outdoorsman, Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing. Known as a stoic man with

precise organization in all things, what mattered most to Ken was his family. He was also a

member of the American Legion and Lyndonville Congregational Church. Ken’s generosity with

family and friends was unmatched. He was a man who spent his life serving and helping others

and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 

In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his wife Sheila Teske, daughter Jan

Lamoureux, brothers Thomas Teske and Allan Teske, sister Dorothy Oldfather, and brothers in-

law Bill Oldfather, Bill Rogers, and Bill Sheahan.

 

He is survived by his son Kenneth (Cindy) Teske Jr. of Boonville, NY; daughters Marie

(Eddy) Hattabaugh of Orlando, FL, Lisa (Frank) Teske of Harpswell, ME, Susan (Joe Peters)

Russell of Lyndon Corner, and Stephanie Jackson of Lyndonville; sisters Carol Rogers of

O’Fallon, MO, and Janet Sheahan of St. Louis, MO; sisters in-law Martha Teske of Warrenton,

OR, and Patricia Teske of Glen Carbon, IL; as well as many grandchildren and great-

grandchildren.

 

Services for Kenneth will be private at the convenience of the family.
