June Rose Rowell, 91, of St. Johnsbury, passed away peacefully at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in the early morning hours of July 4th, 2015.
June was born June 25, 1924, to the late Virtulon & Jennie (Craig) Chesley of Sheffield. She grew up on the family farm and spent a good majority of her life in Sheffield. In her earlier years, she worked at the Darling Inn for several years, as well as Bob Larocques Dry Cleaning.
June loved to knit and spent countless hours in her retirement years knitting baby sweater sets, baby blankets, and other accessories. She truly enjoyed her flower gardens, and loved to be outside working in them with her husband, Willard. Her cat, Mikey, was very special to her and gave her great comfort in her time of diminishing health.
June is survived by her husband, Willard Rowell of St. Johnsbury, VT, her children; Gail (Dennis) Henson of Troy, VT, Garth (Sherry) Chesley of Sheffield, VT, Kathi (Larry) Stewart of Lyndonville, VT, and Candy (Ron) Bean of Lyndonville, VT, and by her brother, Wendell (Sandra) Chesley of Sheffield, VT, by eleven grandchildren: Daniel Chesley, Luke Chesley, Steven Fisher, Lori Honeycutt, Nancy Francis, Sarah Sanville, Garrett McHarg, Jessie Therrien, Audra Sicard, Erin Patoine and Laura McHarg. June also is survived by 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
June was predeceased by her son, Alan Fisher, in Nov 2014, and by two brothers; Verwell and Kenneth Chesley, a sister, Barbara Berry, all formerly of Sheffield, also be her first husband, Theophilus "Ted" Fisher and her second husband, Freeman Ingalls.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 10th at 5 pm at the William Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield with Pastor David DiZazzo officiating. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome.
There will be no calling hours.
