Joan King

Joan Carol Cathleen (Roth) King, age 70, went to be with the Lord, Thurs., Jan. 4^th, 2024, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.

Joan was born in Boston, MA, on Nov. 22^nd, 1953, daughter to the late Richard M. & Cathleen A. (Doran) Roth. On March 31^st, 1973, she married Timothy James King and they shared 43 blessed years together till his passing. They made their home and raised their family in Quincy, MA. They moved to Newark, VT, 31 years ago. She was president & co-owner of their family run computer business Northeast Computer Systems, Inc. in Lyndonville.

Joan was a loving & dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who was always ready to offer a wise word or prayer for anyone in need. She had a deep faith and trust in God. Joan’s life was her testimony. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish & St. Elizabeth Church before her health worsened but continued to intercede through prayer. She suggested the name of Corpus Christi when the churches in Lyndonville, St. Johnsbury, and Danville were combined into one Parish. She organized the Pro-Life Rosary and Holy Hour for years as well as the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She was on the Parish Prayer Chain, she served on both the Parish Council and coordinated the Social Action committee. She was also a dedicated behind the scenes volunteer helping decorate St. Elizabeth for holidays and creating graphic designs for Church events & booklets. She also gave of her time to assist with town groups and events in Newark.

She is survived by her sons: Jacob M. King & his wife Talisa, and Joshua D. King & his wife Jessica R., and their nine children. Her daughter and dedicated caregiver: Caitlin S. King. Two sisters: Jeanette M. Roth and Barbara J. Perrino. A brother: Richard M. Roth Jr. & his wife Tonda. Her mother-in-law; Jean M. Lincoln and many brothers & sisters-in-law, an aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents: Cathleen A. Roth in 2006, & Richard M. Roth in 2010, her son: Justin C. King in 2010, and her beloved husband: Timothy J. King in 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 20th, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Church on Hill Street in Lyndonville, VT with Fr. Curtis Miller as celebrant. The family requests that family and friends join them for the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral in the Church. There will be no calling hours.

There will be a light reception following the funeral in the St. Elizabeth Church Hall.

Burial will be May 24^th, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery in Newark.
