Jeffrey Charles Stearns, 56, of Depot Square Apartments passed away at the Darmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, on Feb. 15, 2019.
Jeffrey was born in St. Johnsbury, on July 28, 1962, son to the late John Miller and Dorothy Florence (Freeman) Stearns. He was raised and educated in St. Johnsbury and was proud to have earned his GED. He loved playing cribbage, board games, and going to BINGO, as well as riding his bicycle years ago. He loved getting together with his friends, camping and sitting around a bonfire. Jeff had a kind heart and would do anything for his friends. Prior to a head injury in 2012, he was for many years the cook in the family, taking care of family gatherings and holidays. He was his mother's essential person in her older years.
Jeffrey is survived by his three sisters: Kathleen M. LeBlanc, Pamela S. Green and Margaret A. Colflesh, all of St. Johnsbury; several nieces and nephews: Jessica W. Soard of North Carolina, Brian J. Stone, Brittanty B. Colflesh, Tandra L. Colflesh, Jonathon T. Austin and Shawna L. Austin, also of St. Johnsbury; cousins: Mike Dustin, Mark Dustin, Keith Dustin, Allison Chase, Gordon Stearns; grand niece and nephew: Corbin and Shasha Soard; step-cousins: The Coderres of Connecticut; and Uncle Charles and Aunt Donna Freeman and cousins of North Carolina.
He is predeceased by his parents: John Miller Stearns and Dorothy Florence (Freeman) Stearns and his sister Christina Mary Stearns; his grandmother: Edith Freeman Coderre; and many aunts and uncles.
There will be no services at this time. We will have a spring gathering at the cemetery with his ashes at a date yet to be determined.
