Jean Paul Gallant, age 78, formerly of Burke Hollow, died at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, NH, Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
Paul was born in Berlin, NH, on February 4, 1938, son to the late Felix and Lucia (LeBlanc) Gallant. He grew up in Berlin, NH and went to Barbering School in Nashua, NH, later settling in Vermont in 1964. He owned and operated Paul’s Barber Shop in Lyndonville from 1973 to 2009, was Zoning Administrator with the Town of Burke and security officer with Burke Mountain for many years. He also served Burke as the Town Constable since 1990 and taught CPR for over 25 years for the American Heart Association.
He is survived by son Steven of California, his daughter and her fiancée Karen Lyon (Arthur Magoon) of W. Burke, two sisters: Gloria Gallant of NJ, Bertha Santiago of Milan, NH, 3 grandchildren: Samantha Johnson, Molly Smith and Yancy Lyon and 5 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 18 years, Patricia Powers Gallant in 1997 and a sister Priscilla Gallant Morin
A Graveside Service will be held at 2PM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Woodmont Cemetery in E. Burke, VT with Rev. Fr. Curtis Miller.
Friends may call on and visit with the family from 6-8PM that Monday evening at the Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT.
