Jean Valach Pulsifer, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024.
Jean was born in Proctor, Vermont on December 2, 1932, the daughter of Victor Valach, Sr. and Susanna Macek Valach.
Jean was a graduate of Proctor High School and Albany Business College. She worked at Proctor Trust Company until meeting her future husband, Richard Pulsifer. Jean and Dick were married at Union Church of Proctor on May 11, 1957.
Following their marriage, Dick and Jean resided in Needham, Massachusetts where their three sons, Thomas, Victor, and Timothy and daughter Susanne were born. The family moved to St. Johnsbury, Vermont in 1967. Jean and Dick resided in the St. Johnsbury area for the remainder of her lifetime.
Jean was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a strong guiding force in the lives of her children. Her support and encouragement of them led her to fill many roles beyond those of wife, mother and homemaker. These included, among many others, Little League Treasurer, Cub Scout and Girl Scout Den Mother, and Babe Ruth League Umpire.
Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard; sons Thomas, Victor, and Timothy Pulsifer and his wife Terri; daughter Susanne Pulsifer; grandchildren Amanda Rasco and her husband Eric, Ryan Pulsifer, and Tony Pulsifer; great-grandchildren Amelia and Alexandra Rasco; many nieces and nephews as well as a large extended Valach and Macek family. She was predeceased by her brother Victor Valach, Jr.
There will be no calling hours. A burial with a brief graveside service will be held at South Street Cemetery in Proctor at a later date.
