Lyndonville, VT: Janice Louise Nutting, age 86, of High Street, died at her home, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, following a recent battle with cancer.
Jan was born in Lyndon, VT, on April 5, 1938, daughter to the late Milburn Field "Red" and Elsie Louise (Smith) Nutting. She grew up in Lyndonville and graduated from Lyndon Institute in the Class of 1956 and then matriculated to Baltimore City Hospital training as a Nuclear Medical Technologist and worked as an X-Ray Tech for 20 years, returning to Lyndonville in 1976. Jan worked at Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington, VT and later in St. Johnsbury for Surgical Associates & Orthopedic Clinic at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital retiring in 1989. She was well known for her sewing abilities including her precious teddy bears and purchased FabricTown in Lyndonville, owning and operating from 1989 into 2010. Jan enjoyed life, gardening, sugaring with her father, Red, cooking and baking- especially blueberry muffins. Jan was able to travel with close friends and enjoyed helping others in need.
Jan is survived by her daughter: Randee L. Johns (Cliff Antee) of Oologah, OK, her son: Richard "Rick" Nutting of Lyndon Center, VT, her 2 sisters: Dorothy Borsodi of Waterford, VT Mary Schoonover (Richard) of Lyndon, 3 grandchildren: Lyndsey Johns, Elizabeth Lafleur, Nicholas Johns (Courtney) and 1 great-grandchild: Easton Cole Johns and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother: Daniel Nutting and her brother-in-law: Albert Borsodi,
A Graveside Service will be held at 1PM on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Lyndon Center Cemetery with Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating. There will be no calling hours at this time.
