Janet Bouchard

October 9, 1946 — September 5, 2017

Janet R. Bouchard of Victory passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at the age of 70.  Janet suffered from progressive Alzheimer’s disease since her retirement from St. Johnsbury Dental where she worked for 46 years.

Janet was born in St. Johnsbury on Oct. 9, 1946, the younger of two daughters born to Maurice and Simone (Choiniere) Bouchard.  She graduated from Concord High School in 1964 and later from UVM Dental Hygienist School.

Janet was a warm hearted person dedicated to family; it was obvious she loved people.  She had a way of quietly doing kind things, whether it be making a Halloween costume for a grandchild or assuring a patient, especially a special needs patient.  Often she would send a comforting note to people to ease their suffering.

She is survived by her companion of 35 years, Howard ‘Oscar’ Lynaugh; her father Maurice Bouchard and his wife Pauline now living in Lewiston, Maine; her sister Patricia Colbeth and husband George of St. Johnsbury; one nephew; and Oscar’s three children and their families. “Grammie Janet” will be dearly missed by her grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at the Concord Village Cemetery on Friday the 8th  at 1 p.m.  The Rev. Ann Hockridge will officiate.

Memorial contributions could be directed to either: The Pines Rehab and Health Center (marked for ‘Resident Activity Fund’), 601 Red Village Rd., Lyndonville VT 05851; or to Lyndon Rescue, PO Box 401, Lyndonville VT 05851.

Oscar and family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at the Pines in Lyndonville for the excellent care they provided to Janet over her ten month residency at their facility.
