James George Jung, age 84, passed away at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, VT, Thursday night, July 14, 2016, with family at his side.
James was born in Milwaukee, WI, on New Year’s Day 1932, son to the late George and Erna ( MAIDEN) Jung. He was raised and educated in Okauchee, Wisconsin, graduating from Rufus King High School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations in 1953, and then received a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1954. Jim served in the U.S Army and completed his time in the Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel.
He married the former Norma Juliana (Fuchs) and shared 62 years together when she died this past January. Jim was a lifelong Boy Scout and dedicated his time and endless energy to the scouts up until even this past year. His love of classical music was unparalleled and truly one of the things he enjoyed. His easy smile was infectious; all who knew him experienced his always Pleasant attitude. He loved both his church and community and gave himself unselfishly to both. Jim worked for the CIA until retiring. He lived in Danville for the past 10 years and had made New England his family’s home since 1982.
He is survived by his daughter: Steffanie Felder of Gambrills, MD, his son: Jeffrey Jung of Seattle, WA, four grandchildren: Juliana & Victoria Felder, Jonathan & Lauren Jung and was predeceased by a sister Marilyn Seeling.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Danville Congregational Church on Hill Street with the Rev. Doug Carter officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no Calling Hours.
