James Edward Buzby, Jr., age 77, of Eastern Avenue, St. Johnsbury passed away at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehabilitation Center on January 26, 2016, following a period of declining health. He had lived in the area for over thirty years.
Jim was born in Brattleboro on February 8, 1938, son to the late James E., Sr. and Myrtle Rosalie (Hunt) Buzby. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro and joined the U.S. Marines, serving for 9 years and honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Jim worked as a carpenter and later as a case worker for Southern Vermont Community Action. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching baseball and golf, and loved putting his carpentry skills to use by working in and around his home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over fifteen years, Mary L. (Noyes) Buzby of St. Johnsbury, six children: Jennifer Buzby, Cora Colebank and Bridget Trulove all of Phoenix, AZ, Julianne Baldwin of New York, James E. Buzby, III and Jeffrey Buzby both of Brattleboro; a brother, Thomas Buzby of Brattleboro and a sister, Joan Dwyer of Nevada and many grand and great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Buzby.
Services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
