Iva Margaret Wood, age 89, of Lynwood Terrace, passed away at her home early Monday morning December 19, 2016.

Iva was born in Stark, NH on June 30, 1927, daughter to the late Clyde and Emma Laura (Gagnon) Hickey. She grew up in that area graduating from Groveton High School with the Class of 1945.  She married Robert B. Wood and shared 66 years together at the time of his passing on February 5, 2013.  Iva worked as a machine operator at the Groveton and Gilman Paper Mills and later worked at Burndy’s in St. Johnsbury.  She kept busy for several years as a newspaper inserter at the Caledonian Record. Iva was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She kept a garden, enjoyed knitting and sewing over the years, including drapes, and bridal and formal gowns for people throughout the area.

She is survived by her daughter: Jeanne Chabot and her husband, Ron, of Victor, NY, their children: Nicole Chabot-Ryan and her husband, J, of Venice, CA, Justin Chabot of Harlem, NY, her sister: Leona DeMers of Stark, NH and many nieces and nephews. She will be very fondly remembered by many friends in the area.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the St. John’s Church on Winter Street in St. Johnsbury with the Rev. Bernard Gaudreau as celebrant.  Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the springtime.

Friends may call on the family Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM, December 21, 2016 at the Sayles Funeral Home on Summer Street.
