Mrs. Hope Lund of Lyndonville died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 96.
She was born in Springfield, Vermont on May 8, 1920, the daughter of Clarence and Grace (Bishop) Jackson. She graduated from Springfield High School and Keene State Teacher’s College.
Hope taught principally at the East Haven and West Burke elementary schools. Hope was a member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church; there she sang in the church choir and frequently worked at the church booth at the Caledonia County Fair. She was an elected member of the DKG Educational Foundation. Her family will remember her playing the piano, writing songs for each grandchild, knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Her favorite place on earth was Ocean Park Beach, Maine where the family made wonderful memories.
She is survived by George, her husband of 65 years: 3 children: Marjorie Brusetti and husband Carl of Barre, Nancy Snyder and husband Mark of Morrisonville, NY, Katherine Rutledge and husband Ken of Barnet: 6 grandchildren: Christopher, Craig, and Carla Brusetti; Adam Snyder; Erin Knox and Erica Conaway; 9 great-grandchildren: Beckah, Christine, Elizabeth and Evelyn; Zen; Isaac, Meredith, Charlotte, and Miles; George’s sister Elsie Cady and husband Clark; George’s brother Milton Lund; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister and her two brothers: Alice, Joseph, and Robert Jackson.
Services will be held in Lyndonville this Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church.
