Harvey H. Dean of Waterford, VT, passed away peacefully at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center Monday, December 12, 2016, at the age of 82.

Harvey was born in Woodsville, NH, on November 14, 1934, son to the late Harvey Edward and Albertine (Boomhower) Dean. He graduated from Groton High School in the Class of 1952. He was married to his devoted wife, Jane M. (Reed), for 57 years.  He joined the US Navy after graduation and served four years in Florida and California. Harvey moved to Vermont started working at Fairbanks as a metal pattern maker and retired there as a quality control inspector following 40 years.  Harvey was an avid trapper, hunter, archer and fisherman who loved the outdoor life.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Dean of Waterford, his sons: Edward J. Dean and his wife, Linda (Sperling), of Milton, VT, Paul R. Dean and his wife, Suvadee, of Chesapeake, VA, 3 grandchildren: Sylvia Dean, Sean Dean and Michael Dean and their mother, Lora Dean, all of St. Johnsbury, a sister: Hilda Lanpher of Barre, 2 half-sisters: Doreen Kay Cary of Barre, Sylvia Beck of Barre, and a half-brother: Richard Beck of Groton.

Harvey was predeceased by his step-brother: Orren (Junior) Beck of Lyndonville.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
