Harold A. Reed of Lunenburg passed away Friday morning, Dec. 18, 2015 at the age of 95. He had resided at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center for the past three years. Previously Harold spent a happy ten years residing at The Canterbury Inn in St. Johnsbury.
Born in Sutton, Vermont Aug. 6, 1920, he was the son of Bernie Clyde Reed and Minnie (Gilbert) Reed and grew up on the Reed Farm in Sutton.
His family will remember Harold as always being a good natured and happy person. He worked most of his life as a farmhand on the Silsby Farm in South Lunenburg and was always willing to step up and help people. He loved his church in Lunenburg and was a member of The Grange there.
He is survived by his nieces, nephews and their extended families. He was predeceased by a brother Luther Reed and his wife Agnes, another brother Herbert Reed and his wife Velma, and a sister Marion Blake and her husband Dean Blake, Sr.
Services will be held in St. Johnsbury on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Sayles Funeral Home. His nephew by marriage, the Rev. James Lundin, will officiate. He will be buried at the Riverside Cemetery later in May.
