Glenna Priest

June 3, 1939 — October 28, 2017

Glenna Priest, 77, of St. Johnsbury passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at The Pines where she had resided for the past three years.

She was born in Wolcott, Vermont on June 3, 1939, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Wagner) Lowell.  Her former husband Oscar passed away just this past Feb. 8, 2017.  She was predeceased by her infant son Robert.

During her teen years Glenna grew up in St. Johnsbury.  She and Oscar lived in Danville 16 years.   Glenna had a love of horses; some of her favorites were a black horse named “Domino”, a pinto named “Princess”, but especially loved Princess’ colt “Stormy”.   She fondly remembered her German shepherd ‘Lady”.  Her family will remember her as an outspoken lady with a big heart; it seemed no matter when you saw her, she was wearing a hat!  She loved playing bingo with her friends and going to country western dances!  She participated on the local Special Olympics committee.

She is survived by son Sidney Priest Sr. and wife Dadria of St. Johnsbury; three daughters: Kathy Priest of St. Johnsbury, Dorene Priest and fiancé Richard Letourneau of Lyndonville, Anna Marie Priest of North Stratford NH; all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister Katherine Whitehill of Waterford; nieces and nephews.

There will a small graveside service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury on Monday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m.  Fr. Bernie Gaudreau presiding.   Anyone wishing to attend is welcome.

Memorial contributions, marked for ‘Resident Activity Fund’, could be directed to The Pines, 601 Red Village Rd., Lyndonville VT 05851.
