Fred Bedor passed away in his home Tuesday afternoon, March 12, 2024, after his long battle with cancer.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on February 4, 1972, the last baby born at Brightlook Hospital. He was raised on the family farm in St. Johnsbury, until his father moved them to Lyndon, and started the family logging business. Fred took to the woods with his father, “Bibi”, and logged next to him for many years. The duo persevered, facing many hard years, but kept the family business going. His sons, and nephews often worked for Fred & Bibi in the woods. They enjoyed teaching the next generation the ways of the trade. The memories made in the woods with Fred will always be cherished. Fred later took over the business, Fred Bedor & Sons Logging and Trucking. He became a well known logger in the community. He was a strong headed man in more ways than one, but swore by his Tree Farmers, and vowed never to become a mechanized operation.
Fred loved the outdoors, he lived for bow season, and rarely missed a day of rifle season. He enjoyed four wheeling with his children, and showing them the best fishing holes in local brooks. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra (Morse) Bedor, of St. Johnsbury, his children: Devon Bedor of Lyndonville, Justin Bedor of Lyndon Center and their mother: Robin Calkins, also his two youngests: Addison and Aiden Bedor. His siblings: Charlotte Bedor, Joanna Bedor and David Bedor, Jr. also his bonus brother Mark Baxter. His 8 nieces and nephews: Tabatha Beard, Tim (Amy) Bedor, Michael Leclerc, Brian Bedor, Rebecca Bedor, Christine (Marc) Riendeau, Michael (Samantha) Bedor, and Felicia Bean.
Fred was predeceased by father, David “Bibi” Bedor Sr.
