Everett W. Drew, 88, of Danville, passed away on February 13, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.
Everett was born on March 7, 1936 in Island Pond to Warden and Evelyn (Bingham) Drew. He grew up on the family farm in Newark. He married his childhood sweetheart, Norma, on October 20, 1956, sharing 63 years together before her passing on March 11, 2020. The couple lived in Danville for most of their marriage where Everett worked as a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking Company for many years. Everett was very proud of the millions of miles he drove for St. Johnsbury Trucking without any accidents.
A lifelong Vermonter who lived a simple life, Everett was happiest when he was on a boat fishing. Known to many as the “Yankee Yanker,” the name of his boat, Everett was an avid fisherman as well as hunter. He would boast of the number of lake trout he was able to catch over his lifetime. He did not keep his love of fishing to himself; he taught others how to fish and passed on his enjoyment of his favorite pastime. He will be remembered and missed by many as they fish at Caspian Lake and Lake Champlain.
Everett is survived by his children, Rhonda (Craig) Taylor, Roena (Nelson) Whitehill, and Blaine (Pam) Drew; a brother and two sisters; sister-in-law Eleanor (Forrest) Little; grandchildren Brian, Kari, Victoria, Ashley, Austin, and Cameron; as well as six great-grandchildren and another on the way. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, one sister, a sister-in-law and his mother-in-law.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service and committal for Norma and Everett will be held in the spring at Danville Green Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
