Edward Fregosi

Edward Fregosi, 82, of Lyndonville, VT passed away on November 3, 2023.  He was born in Proctor, VT on June 13, 1941 to Geno and Vera Fregosi. He graduated from Castleton State College and started his career teaching Physical Education in Newbury and Danville, VT before taking the position of PE instructor at Lyndon Institute where he taught for over 25 years.  While there he also coached cross country and started the gymnastics club. He was known for always imbuing his classes with humor and songs, as well as handing out numerous nicknames to his students. It was at Lyndon Institute that he met his wife of 55 years, Carol. Ed also spent many years working as a Customs and Immigration Officer at the Canadian border.

Like his mother, Ed was very gregarious. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth’s Church, a Justice of the Peace, a Meals on Wheels driver, and a member of the Lyndon Democrats. He knew everyone in town and would often end up chatting with numerous townspeople while running errands or out getting a cup of coffee.

He is survived by his wife Carol and their children: Gianna Fregosi of Lyndonville, VT, John Freogsi, his wife Stacey and their daughters Natasia and Catherine of Staunton, VA, and Jami McFeeley, her husband Sean and their daughter Ryan of Lyndonville, VT. He is also survived by two sisters: Mary Fregosi of Proctor, VT and Anita Ristau of Barre, VT. He is also remembered by numerous nephews and nieces and countless students whose lives he touched through the years. He was predeceased by his eldest sister, Jean Lertola.

Calling hours will be held at Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main St. in Lyndonville on Sunday, November 12th from 1-3pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Church on Monday, November 13th at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lyndonville Meals on Wheels program.
