West Burke, VT: Edward Joseph Colon, age 83, died at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital following a heart attack Saturday evening on July 28, 2024.
Edward was born on February 12, 1941, in Bronx, NY, son to the late Paul and Sarah (Picone) Colon. He was raised and educated in the Bronx. He trained in plumbing and heating and spent all of his working career in that field. Ed was an extremely hard worker and continued this work ethic in his retirement job in food service at Burke Mountain. On February 10, 1962, he married Patricia Sheridan and shared 62 years with her.
As a child, Edward was a champion marble player and became an excellent dancer. He served as the first president of the Spanish American Bowling League in New Jersey. Ed enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia Colon of Canterbury Inn, St. Johnsbury, VT; three daughters: Linda Rondeau and husband Jeffrey of Lebanon, CT, Sheila Colon-Cacciatore of Roanoke, VA, and Cheryl Patouhas and husband Gus of Merchantville, NJ; two sisters: Sara Navarro of Beverly, NJ and Judy Hopkins of Tennessee; ten grandchildren: Melissa Lemmon, Tristen Miller, Mark Colon, Steven, AJ, Cpl. Gianni, and Alyssa Cacciatore, Brittney D’Amelio, Kayla Gismonde, and Michael Gismonde; and 4 great grandchildren: Ethan and Emma Miller, Evo and Ori Koch.
He was predeceased by a son: Timothy Edward Colon.
A Celebration of Life will take place with details to be announced. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ.
