Edward Argenio

June 3, 1964 — June 20, 2017

Ed was born June 3, 1964 in Orange, New Jersey. Ed’s Father, Al Argenio, moved his family to Vermont in September of 1969 when he got a transfer here with the Telephone Company.

Eddie attended St. Johnsbury schools, and he graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1982.

After a few years of welding for Bob Howland in Lyndonville, Ed joined the US Navy in February 1985. He achieved the rank of 2’nd class Petty Officer. Working as a hull technician, based out of Pearl Harbor, he welded ships there and also around the world in the Persian Gulf, Australia and Thailand. He served aboard the USS Fox and USS Acadia. In June of 1990, Ed got out of the Navy and settled in his wife’s native Washington State. Later, he would often recount those adventures with his nieces and nephews on the phone. We always had to get the map out to find where he was talking about.

For many years, Ed managed several fish hatcheries for the State of Washington, including Kendall Creek Hatchery in Deming. His sons’ Zach and Jared got to see their “Grandma and Grandpa A” every year until Mom and Dad could no longer travel. Now they come to Vermont to see their Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and cousins. During these visits the hunting, fishing and sightseeing stories we all traded were a lot of fun to both tell and hear.

Ed loved sports, and Dad and Ed usually had a “nickel bet” on all the important baseball and football games. They both loved the NY Yankees and the Giants.

For several years, Ed was unable to work due to his poor health. In April of 2016, He moved back home to Vermont. He settled in just a couple of miles from his beloved childhood farmhouse. In his last year he was able to spend time with old friends and family, and to get to know his nieces and nephews in person, not just on the phone. He loved to hear them play their musical instruments and he thought the world of them all.

Ed died in the ICU at Dartmouth June 20, 2017. He is survived by his parents Al and Agnes Argenio (224 Hillside Ave, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819) and by his sister Judy and her husband Bruce Houghton (2937 Red Village Rd, Lyndonville, VT 05851) His sister’s children Ellie and great niece Shelbie, Rebecca, Sarah, David, Joshua, Mary and Anna. His Ex wife Jill Paull and sons Zach and Jared (Jared c/o Jill Bramer Paull P.O. Box 287 Oakville, WA 98568) Zachary Argenio (21649 Weedenfeld RD SW Rochester WA, 98579) and their nineteen cousins.

Ed was predeceased by all of his grandparents, his wife’s parents Orville and Judy Bramer, and all but three of his many Aunts and Uncles.

His best friend was Dean “My buddy Deano” Cushman, and his family. There are so many other friends and acquaintances too numerous to mention. Ed never met a stranger! We will all fondly remember his interest in talking, at length, about anything and everything, his ability to never tell a joke right, and how pleased he was to be home.

Cards and notes would be welcome and appreciated. Guibord Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery at the convenience of family and friends.
